In my mind and opinion, I still hope that one day Kab. Malang was expanded again into at least two new districts.
1. District South Malang (center city in Kepanjen)
2. District North Malang (center city in Singosari)
This is about accelerating of development resources, about the great potential for administrative and bureaucratic efficiency. District Malang is currently too big to be handled by one central government in Kepanjen.
3 sub-districts separated on the west side of Batu City, namely Pujon, Ngantang, and Kasembon should join the administrative area of Batu City. To make it simple.
Meanwhile Dau, Karangploso, Singosari, Lawang, Jabung, Pakis, Wagir, Tumpang, Poncokusumo join North Malang Regency as new district.
The remaining dozens of sub-districts in the south of this area join South Malang Regency. Such as Ampelgading, Dampit, Turen, Tirtoyudo in the east side and Kalipare, Pagak, Donomulyo and Sumberpucung in the west side. Interesting, isn't it?
At most, the grassroots (lower class) only question, if there are two Malang districts, then which district does AREMA FC belong to? That's the most social problem. Well, it can still be mitigated from the start.
Eh, there is a suggestion from the Malang elder, my senior Mr. Yudi Widianto, that the east side also be made into its own district centered in Turen. Look okay?
Fun fact:
The largest sub-district in Malang Regency is Sumbermanjing Wetan (Sumawe) sub-district.
So does Sumawe have an opponent? Sumalon (Sumbermanjing Kulon) for example? Apparently there is, but it is not at the sub-district level. Sumalon is only at the village level in Pagak District.
Someone asked, the South Malang area is so far away from the manufacturing industry so that the poverty rate is quite high. If it is expanded, what will the southern region hope for?
Lho, lho, lho don’t worry. Where does this country's foreign exchange (TKI/TKW) come from if not South Malang? Not to mention the potential of the coastline, not to mention the sound horeg. Be optimistic about tourism, yo pora?
