Final Project : "Jatropha Stripper and Separate Machine Design"

Abstract Final Project

Processing of Jatropha seeds (Jatropha curcas) for its oil has been made since long time because jatropha oil has many uses. This machine only functions to do stripping process of jatropha seeds in which the stripping should be performed 2 times. It is because jatropha seeds have two layers of skin that protects the seeds. Process of stripping which is done without stripping the skin of the inner seed (black colored) will reduce the oil contain obtained. The process of stripping of this jatropha seed will be processed on machines with a capacity of 186 kg/hour, then the series of processing processes are as follows. The first seed is poured into the sortir unit, here the seed will be selected according to the size. After that, the sorted seeds will go directly to the stripper unit formed of two steel plates to break the outside skin. Once the skin is broken, the skin will be separated by a blower wind to a place that has already been prepared.
